For one particular dance routine, the costume chosen involved cargo pants. The information came down from on high that the easiest place for everyone to get cargo pants such that the gentlemen matched the ladies they were dancing with was Jayjays. So we all trooped in to their stores and lo and behold... Most of the ladies fitted into the 'mens' best and some of the gentlemen fitted into the 'womens' best. One gentleman reported being gently told by a salesperson that he should go over to the mens racks instead of looking in the womens... I was told by my salesperson that the issue we were having with body shape was not uncommon :D
Personally I have the mens cargos in the smallest size they had, because the womens were hipster-style but four inches or so too long in the hips for me to wear them that way - hipsters are badly shaped for the 'waistband' to be around your ribs.
