Red
1. Closest red thing to you?: a book
2. Last thing to make you angry?: accidentally smashing a crystal wine glass that I had just bought to replace a previously-broken one and was washing. $40.
3. Do you have a temper?: Yes, although I'm more easily irritated than truly angry/aggressive. Although I apparently often come across as more aggressive than I feel. The rare times I gotten truly angry have not been pretty.
4. Are you a fan of romance?: Yes. Not glurge. Not saccharine smarminess. But realistic dealing-with-feet-of-clay (on both sides) romance, yes, in both real life and fiction
Orange
1. Closest orange thing to you?: Chilli oil.
2. Do you like to burn things?: I fucking love burning things.
3. Dress up for Halloween?: No. Although I really don't mind dress-ups in general.
4. Are you usually a warm-hearted person?: I think I am, generally speaking.
5. Are you usually full of energy?: Not exactly. Average, I suppose. I have fits and starts. If I'm motivated, it's amazing how much energy I can have for something (like all of us, I imagine).
Yellow
1. Closest yellow thing to you?: A book cover.
2. The happiest time[s] of your life?: Too many to name, but they've nearly always involved the fucking cool people in my life.
3. Favorite holiday: One where I can go away, get in some scenery and/or some culture, and there aren't shrieking hordes of nucular families. Oh, and where looking queer isn't an issue.
4. Are you a coward?: Hah, yes, at times, in the emotional sense. In terms of physical bravery, not so much.
5. Do you burn or tan?: Tan, but I did get burned a couple of years ago in NZ. I have to remember that just because the air is cooler, it doesn't mean that the sun isn't just as burny (in fact, more so) as in Oz.
Green
1. Closest green thing to you?: Another book cover (I shouldn't be doing this sitting next to my bookshelves)
2. Do you care about the environment?: Very much so.
3. Are you jealous of anyone right now?: Nope. Enviousness at times, but none at present.
4. Are you a lucky person?: In the "lucky things happen to me" sense, hell no. I have never won anything in my life (eg. in a lottery). In terms of having a good life, yes, indeed.
5. Do you always want what you can't have?: No. I don't understand that mindset, frankly. Sometimes I long for things I can't have any more, but I get over it.
6. Do you like being outdoors?: Yes, when it's cool enough to walk and there is scenery I can commune with.
7. Are you Irish?: Mostly, the parts that I know about. Oh, and I am actually an Irish citizen, tae be shure.
Blue
1. Closest blue thing to you?: The beanbag I'm sitting on. Or my teeshirt. Or my boxer shorts. They're all different shades and my shorts have a red and white seed-like pattern on them.
2. Are you good at calming people down?: Despite my fly-off-the-handleness in general, yes. Also, I know a relationship is going to work if I have that effect on my lover(s).
3. Do you like the sea?: Yes, although I can't swim. I like looking at it, smelling it, paddling around in it, and canoeing. Floating around in boats - no matter what the size - is nice. I also had a great time snorkeling in Hawaii.
4. What was the last thing that made you cry?: I don't cry very often, if I can help it. Oh, yes, a vid featuring one of the characters from Firefly that I saw for the first time last year. Amazing what can get to you.
5. Are you a logical thinker?: When I put my mind to it. When I can put my mind to it.
6. Can you sleep easily?: If a place is quiet, and it's cool enough, yes. And if I'm not too horny, it must be said.
Purple
1. Closest purple thing to you?: Another book. Gaywyck, for my sins (I hadn't read it before, and it's a "classic").
2. Like being treated to expensive things?: Yes, if it's not to buy me, it's not going to impoverish the person concerned, and it's for a treat and not just conspicuous consumption (ie. the pleasure for both of us is worth the expense).
3. Do you like mysterious things?: No. I either feel insecure and/or fucked off about them. I don't mind suspense stories, but not the contrived sort.
4. Favorite type of chocolate?: Dark. Belgian.
5. Ever met anyone from myspace?: No. In terms of meeting people in RL that I've initially met online, yes, lots.
6. Are you creative?: Alas, no. I'm very appreciative of what others create, though. I have enough critical facility to be a good built-in audience. :-)
Pink
1. Closest pink thing to you?: Thai cookbook.
2. Do you like sweet things?: I don't like sweets. Not-sickly puddings and cakes, yes, sometimes.
3. Like play-fighting?: I love it. Fun fun!
4. Are you sensitive?: Yes. But I can be insensitive as well (not nearly as much).
5. Do you like punk music?: Erm, I liked The Clash. Actually, I liked more post-punk acts, when they decided that singing in reasonable tune and actually playing their instruments wasn't totally uncool. I really liked ska and two-tone.
White
1. Closest white thing to you?: A piece of paper
2. Would you say you're innocent?: Not at all. It's not a quality I particularly admire, either.
3. Always try to keep the peace?: Yes... up to a point. If someone is out and out trying to make me lose, I suddenly become very unpeaceful.
4. How do you imagine your wedding?: Fucking not at all.
5. Do you like to play in the snow?: The few times I have, yes.
6. Are you afraid of going to the doctors or dentist?: Not afraid, but I dislike it immensely. Nothing wrong with me, oh, no!!!
Black
1. Closest black thing to you?: Another book cover. (O: The Intimate History of the Orgasm)
2. Ever enjoy hurting people?: Only if they're enjoying it.
3. Are you sophisticated or silly?: Either or both, as needed. (wot Miche says - although sometimes I get them mixed up, heh)
4. Would you like to go to space?: For a sci-fi fan, I really don't give a shit about going to space. I think we need to sort out our own planet first.
5. Do you have a lot of secrets?: Not many.
6. What is your favorite color?: Indigo blue; dark olive green; charcoal grey; dark ruby red, heading towards black; and, the silvery-grey-blue shimmer of the ocean as the sun is going down and the water has a sheen like mercury.
7. Does the color you wear affect your mood?: Not exactly, although I've noticed recently that my eye-colour appears to change if I wear shades of blue, grey or black. I'll have to try it with green too. Actually, I do get very out of sorts if I'm wearing a colour I know doesn't suit me. As I do with clothes that aren't the right cut for me, or are made of crap fabrics. Most of the time, when it comes to work clothing, in fact.

Date: 2007-02-02 01:16 am (UTC)Aaah so you're a Firefly flan too! My friend Bec took me all the way to Adelaide just for overnight to see the premiere screening of Serenity in aug05! 'Twas fun!
I'm an Irish citizen too! My mother was born there, I've never been there yet. The Irish diaspora. Wonder when the EU will start making it harder to get an Irish passport.

Date: 2007-02-02 08:30 am (UTC)Mmmm, unfortunately I'm not so much one for public pervy action, although I have met some cool people in Sydders. I personally want to head down to Melb for some of the workshops for n00bs that happen there, but they always do them in the middle of the bloody week, the buggers. How am I supposed to learn how to whack someone properly? (ok, I have able assistance, but it's a little hard for someone in the moment to give you pointers on technique, *chortle*)
Yay Firefly converts! We rule.
As for Irish passports, I got mine, erm, 8 years ago now, with no hassle. I lived in England for nearly 5 years due to the handiness of it. Only my grandmother was born in Ireland (although the men in my family seemed to import Irish brides right back to the 1840s), but after presenting the Irish consulate with 11 pieces of paper, it was easy as. It's well worth it, especially if you want to travel to Europe. You get to jump all the immigration queues. :-)
