Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] micheinnz, among others:

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?

I don't mind paying bills, I'm quite boringly responsible. I am slightly irked at having to pay $2000 tax with my last return - I need to get some health insurance, then deduct it, and crap crap crap (you pay a premium for Medicare if you earn over a certain amount - I'm not used to having to poke around with all the stupid exemptions and rubbish they have in the Aussie tax regime).

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?

In Auckland.

3. Last time you puked from drinking?

When I was still living in London, I think. I did it a fair bit while I was living there, or when I was visiting Belgium (when visiting Belgium, and drinking 6-9% Belgian beers, do not try to keep up with the locals!!)

4. When is the last time you got drunk and danced on a bar?

Never. Although once, when I was drunk and stoned and jetlagged and violently depressed, I took my top off and showed my tits to a roomful of (almost) complete strangers. The unfortunate part was the three people in the room who weren't complete strangers...

5. Name of your first grade teacher?

I can't remember the name of my Primer One teacher, although I do recall she played the autoharp. No, the first teacher whose name I can remember was Mrs Sim, in Standard One. She was some kind of South-East Asian, and I thought she was wonderful.

6. What do you really want to be doing right now?

Snuggling up with someone, actually. I'm in a strangely cuddlesome mood.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A doctor. All the way through until age 16.

8. How many colleges did you attend?

This depends if we're speaking American. Two high schools, one university (twice, and I didn't graduate either time). Oh, and I've worked in two universities (and didn't have the opportunity of attending classes, dagnabit).

9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?

Because it's my nice t-shirt with a scenic picture of NZ on it, and I like wearing it for tai chi.

10. GASFUEL PRICES?

Should be more - with the levies going directly to public transport rather than more bloody roads (especially here in Canberra).

11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you?

Hell yes, and all their other loved ones as well. :-)

12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?

"Mmm, I could snooze for another 15 minutes..." (cue screams when I woke up 45 minutes later. Must remember not to do that when I didn't get much sleep the previous night!)

13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?

Fairly obscene ones, actually (no, you don't need to know).

14. Favorite style of underwear?

Comfortable, high cotton quotient, not looking like old-lady knickers. I like those little "boy leg" jobbies.

15. Favorite style of underwear for the opposite sex?

Erm, I haven't really encountered much. If I'm in a position to seeing it, I'm probably waiting for them to remove it.

16. What errand/chore do you despise?

Putting things away. Dusting.

17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?

Possibly, unless I chose to study and get that degree (any degree!)

18. Get up early or sleep in?

Sleep in, please. (But generally no later than 9-9:30)

19. What is your favorite cartoon character?

Top Cat.

20. Favorite NON sexual thing to do at night with a girl/guy?

Jesus, does anyone actually want to do the same thing with everyone? Bizarre question.

21. Have you found real love yet?

Most definitely.

22. When did you first start feeling old?

I haven't yet. I do have moments of feeling old, but it's most certainly not my default mode.

23. Favorite 80's movie?

Bladerunner, although I love Repo Man as well (Miche's choice). And Cherry 2000 (which I just found on DVD. w00t!)

24. Your favorite lunch meat?

In terms of what I'd call "luncheon sausage", I hate 'em all. Ham or prosciuitto.

25. What do you get every time you go into Sam's Club?

What on earth is "Sam's Club"? (I can't be arsed googling it)

26. Beach or lake?

It depends. I don't like "sunbathing" beaches that much, although they're fine if there aren't too many people. Wild west coast beaches will win every time, though. But I do like scenic lakes with trees and mountains.

27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?

Alas, no. (Before you jump on me, I have no problem with commitment ceremonies, if that is your thing, or making financial and property arrangements. I just think they should be separate things, and you should have the ability to carry them out with whom you choose.)

28. How many people do you stalk on livejournal?

Zero. Gross.

29. Favorite guilty pleasure?

I don't feel guilty unless I fuck up. And there's nothing pleasurable about fucking up.

30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?

Hm, there must be some cheesy ridiculous movie I should be embarrassed about. Nothing springs to mind tho'. I have to admit that the last scene in Gladiator made me bawl my eyes out - I hate Russell Crowe! It was so hackneyed! But still, something  tweaked me. Oh well.

31. What's your drink?

Tea, generally, and I could be a coffee addict if I let myself. Booze, anything good-quality (ie. not full of sugar) except stuff with aniseed or caraway in it (ie. no Sambucca, ouzo, aquavit, pastis or the like).

32. Cowboys or Indians?

Indians. I really don't understand the attractions of the cowboy thing. Although I did like Firefly.

33. Cops or Robbers?

Cops, so long as there are nice uniforms. I like their tools. However, they totally go against my anarchist principles (if you could be a cop and choose which laws you'd enforce... *snigger*)

34. Who from high school would you like to run into?

A few people. It'd be interesting to catch up with a couple from my first high school, and also a couple from my second high school.

35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?

My car doesn't have a radio (OMGWTFBBQ!).

36. Norm or Cliff?

Are you joking? Neither, blech.

37. The Cosby Show or the Simpsons?

The Simpsons

38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?

Too many to name. The major one, getting involved in a violent situation. The second, getting involved with Ms Studly Butch whose entire life consisted of a pity party for herself, which we were all supposed to participate in.

39. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?

He's fine, generally speaking. And he likes me, which is more important, since he's my boss.

40. If you could get away with it, who would you kill?

I'd like to be pure and say "no-one", but there is one.

41. What famous person(s) would you like to party with?

Um. Since I don't know any famous people personally, I wouldn't have a clue.

42. What famous person would you like to sleep with?

As above.

43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?

Only if the extinguisher training course counts.

44. Last book you read for real?

Dear christ, who doesn't read "for real", if they read? Anyways, I'm rereading the Kushiel books.

45. Do you have a teddy bear?

No. I didn't have one as a kiddie either.

46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?

In the Pelorus River? No, it's not that odd. Actually, you have to admit that brushing your teeth at 30,000 feet (in a plane) is pretty damn odd, really.

47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?

Yosemite. And Santa Cruz (don't ask me why, it just looks like a nice town). But I'd be happy to return to the places I've been,SF/the Bay area and the Napa Valley, but not LA (blech blech blech).

48. Do you go to church?

Nup.

49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?

A new relationship, although I'm not in a hurry to, at this particular point.

50. Just how OLD are you?
 38 and 5/6ths

"...and I like wearing it for tai chi."

I didn't know you practice Tai Chi.

Santa Cruz is a wonderful town. I'd love to visit there again, myself. You should also try San Diego. I need to take more pics of the place. It's beautiful here.

I'm a tai chi n00b, just half-way through learning the 24-form.

San Diego sounds very much like Auckland (similar population, sea, boats, etc), where I grew up. We certainly heard a lot about the place during the America's Cup yacht racing in the 1990s!
