On the time-wasting front, I bought myself Spore today. Now to see if it'll actually run on my lappie.

On the I Feel Like Some Body Stuff front, I got my tragus pierced. He did a good job, although I'm a little peeved about the lack of consultation about the jewellery. I actually want a ring, but I suppose a bar is easier to get in. This was at Freestyle Tattoo and Piercing in Civic. I want to scope out some of their tattoo options as well. Eee!

I always find it vaguely reassuring when my older friends, even online, get new piercings and tattoos. On account of they're older and still want them. Gives me confidence.

Heh, the hilarious thing was that he didn't ask me for ID when he looked at my age on his form. Us mature types, eh?

And confidence into the future, eee!

That's brave of you, with the SecuROM thing and all. Hopefully the game's worth the hassle for you.

They've released a patch that allows you to install it on up to 5 machines. And not that there isn't a non-DRM'd version of it available (http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/50021882/spore?tab=summary) (thus the patch, I imagine).

I personally blame MS for this, due to their stupid XP activation bullshit giving everyone ideas....

Whoa, stop the presses! 5 activations instead of 3! Nup, still not good enough to make it worth having SecuROM on my machine, I think. Still, each to their own. I hope you enjoy the game, at any rate! (I'll just stick to boycotting that sort of thing as best I can, while muttering and ranting here in the corner about bloody intrusive DRM and so on, don't mind me...)

Heh, no worries. I don't care, personally, because this is *cough* a work lappie, and I normally boot it into Ubuntu for 98% of my stuff. The only thing I use Windows for is work, and games like these. :-D

From what I understand, bars are easier at first. (Of course, I've only got one lobe done myself, so I don't know squat from firsthand knowledge.)

Give it a few weeks to heal and then you can swap the bar out for whatever you want.

Yeah, bars are easier to fit, but not to clean. And yep, swapsies later on is the plan. :-)

nice, looks good trix. i want to put more holes in my ears :) i've just bought some very very shiny turquoise rings to stretch my lobes with. i got a ring in the upper ear straight off, and had few probs. you should be able to put one in soon, even before it heals, and continue the healing process. i like little circular barbells, and they're easier than rings with capture balls to put in because you just screw one of the ends off and pop it in. it looks like it's probably 16 gauge. i've got one pale blue titanium one with cute little spikes instead of balls on the ends that i've been meaning to put in.

Ah, the circular barbell is a good idea! I'll go for that. I like those cute spike ends too. Yeah, I thought I'd see how it is in about a month and see if I'm ready to swap. It's at the itchy stage now, so healing is starting up.

I was peeved about the lack of consultation about jewellery, because I had my rook pierced with a ring straight off - no problems 15 years later! But the bar was all pre-sterilised, so perhaps that's how they start everything off there. I think you're right it's 16ga as well, which is smaller than I prefer.

Shiny turquoise rings sound shiny!
