That "firsts" meme

[1] Who was your FIRST prom date?
We don't do proms in New Zealand. (swiped answer from
micheinnz )
[2] Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Yes, if we're talking about loves and not shags - I got an email from her a few weeks back (which I still haven't replied to, woez!)
[3] What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Shandy (beer and fizzy lemonade) too. However, when I was about 5 or 6, I wanted to try some more and asked for some at a party my parents were having... except I asked for "sherry" (having confused the words). So, they thought it was a great laugh to give me some; it was vile. I didn't drink sherry again for 30 years (I like the good stuff now).
[4] What was your FIRST job?
Babysitting, when I was about 9 or 10.
[5] What was your FIRST car?
A Morris Minor
[6] Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
saluqi - literally 10 minutes after I woke up, and while I was making my morning toast porridge
[7] Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
My aunty, who I saw up in Sydney yesterday
[8] Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
I don't remember her name, unfortunately. Although she did play the autoharp. I do remember my Standard 1 teacher (year 2? When you turn 7 (we start school at 5 in NZ)), Mrs Sim. She was from the Phillipines and was my first official crush.
[9] Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
Around Whangarei (northern NZ); my stepfather's brother-in-law owned a small plane.
[10] Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them?
Lord. There was a boy named Peter who taught me how to draw faces in profile, and a Maori boy called Basil (I didn't twig that Maori was "different" for many years). The first best friend I properly remember was Antoinette W. We were close from Standard 2 to Standard 4, but when we went to intermediate school, we were assigned to different classes in different streams (mine was the "clever" stream and hers was the "average" one), and we grew apart before I moved to another school few months later.
[11] What was your FIRST sport played?
Softball. Our primary school team made it to the finals of the North Shore inter-school championships.
[12] Where was your FIRST sleep over?
Um, I didn't ever have one, at least not as a child. I did have a couple as a teenager, but it wasn't just sleeping that was involved (see, there are advantages in being a queer teenager!)
[13] Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
Holly, a saluki exhibitor at the dog show I went to today. Oh, actually, my flatmates' pooch, who was telling me he was staaaarving.
[14] (?)wedding were you in the FIRST time?
Erm, possibly when my mother married my stepfather when I was 4. I don't remember it. Actually, I haven't actually been in a wedding. I've attended 4 or 5, tops.
[15] What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Got up and made a cuppa and porridge (after screaming when I found I didn't have any toast bread in the freezer).
[16] What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
The Eurhythmics
[17] FIRST tattoo or piercing?
I got my first earrings when I was 16. My mother went off the deep end. First tattoo when I was 22? First "other" piercing about a year or so after that.
[18] FIRST foreign country you went to for vacation?
The US.
[19] What was your FIRST run in with the law?
When protesting outside the US Embassy. No conviction, though.
[20] When was your FIRST detention?
I had one in Standard 4. I apparently did something like make a stupid expression in assembly while the headmaster was giving us a speech.
[21] What was the FIRST state you lived in?
We don't have states.
[22] Who was the FIRST person to break your heart?
The chickie in question 2. She went off and shacked up with a bloke and didn't tell me about it for 6 weeks, and then told me that she didn't mention it because she reckoned she knew I would get all pissed off because it was a bloke. (Actually, at 18, I was, but I got over that one within about 5 minutes - it was the letting me fuck her while she was seeing someone else on the side thing that got me more pissed off. What is this "safe sex" of which you speak? (not to mention the emotional crap))
[23] Who was your FIRST roommate?
Are we talking about lovers we live with, or flatmates? Because in my first flat, there were three other women and two children. The first lover I lived with, I lived with in a flat (actually a huge cool Victorian house) with 5 other people. In fact, the only lover I lived with alone was a total disaster - it was supposed to be a "temporary" arrangement after she got kicked out of where she was living (warning bells! duh!) about 3 months after we started seeing each other (too soon warning bells! double duh!)
[24] Where did you go on your FIRST limo ride?
I've never ridden in a limo.

Date: 2008-10-04 12:59 pm (UTC)And actually, I just realised it wasn't the first concert I ever went to - I saw plenty of acts before that. It was just the first international stadium-type concert I'd been to.
