I would do favors ... for him while he was out, like letting his dogs out to use the bathroom...

Letting the dogs out to use the bathroom? I know we've talked about Americans' aversion to certain words before, but really.

I've heard this a bit. Also "going potty" and "potty training" referring to a dog.

In our house it's just "let the dog out" - I don't really care what they do out there as long as they do something...

Exactly. Baying at the moon, chasing bunnehs. Even if they're going out to "do their thing" or whatever. But SRSLY.

I don't mind some euphemisms, when they're basically just nicknames for whatever (yes, I do go to the loo). But that going to the bathroom thing drives me nuts. Slightly excusable in the US when you're talking about a room that contains a bath and a toilet. But still...
