As I mentioned, I saw the X-Men movie on Sunday evening, and did my usual perving over Famke Janssen.  It galled me that Wolverine wimped out from his manly duty when she jumped him (and I did like seeing Hugh Jackman with his shirt off again, but I wish he'd get better haircuts in RL). But maybe I have a thing for (not too) castrating bitches. Speaking of lust objects, I don't normally do the androgenous thing, but I certainly got my drool on for the actress who played Arclight (second from right, here) in the movie, Omahyra Mota. mmm hmmm.

I'm now thinking of other actors I have the hots for (not in any particular order):

Pascale Bussières (from When Night is Falling, but she is just as stunning in anything. Phwooar.)
Jodhi May (brains AND gorgeousness, who can resist?)
Jada Pinkett-Smith (for general cuteness and attitude)
Karina Lombard (who played Marina in The L Word). The only thing I think when I look at that woman is "Holy hell".
Daniel Day Lewis (when he and I were both younger)
Michelle Yeoh (not only does she look good, but she can move)
Joseph Fiennes (ok, one of the few men at whom I went "mmm" at first sight. Such a pretty mouth and eyes)
Natalie Portman (she's just getting better as she gets older)
Ziyi Zhang (while we're talking seemingly-ethereal-but-core-of-steel)
Matthew Macfadyen (he's got a nice accent, although I do prefer him with his hair a la Darcy)
Jessica Alba (alright, alright, pure eyecandy).
Rachel Weisz (only reason I went to see Constantine)
Keanu Reeves (ok, I lied about Constantine. I just wish he would never open his mouth. Ever.)
Drew Barrymore (do I need to say anything here?)
Gina Torres
(Zoe from Firefly. But I think every single female character from that series is delicious. Amazing).
Lucy Lawless (my one claim to ...something was that I met her at a party in Auckland in the late 80s. There you go)

Honorable mentions:

Like everyone else in the world, I wouldn't chuck Angelina Jolie out of bed. And Sean Maher from Firefly gets the award for best shirtless male EVAH.

Gah. Gina Torres. Jada Pinkett-Smith. Um. Oh, and Gina Torres is married to Laurence Fishburne? I wish I lived next door. They'd have a restraining order on me SO FAST.

Ditto on Gina Torres and the rest of Firefly women. (Except River...too young for me). Zoe's my favorite though.

And yeah, Arclight isn't my usual "type" (for lack of a better term) but she was great. I thought she and Callisto made a lovely pair.

Ditto on Sean too.

I felt the same way about River being a little young, but when kickassmode = ON, I just seem to forget her age... :-)

Michelle Yeoh....

Have you seen much of the HK Michelle Yeoh stuff? I don't fancy her, but she often plays women who kick some serious arse, and that makes me a fan :)

My favourite of hers is Wing Chun (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111800/), not because it's a particularly accurate portrayal of the beginnings of wing chun, but because it's a totally cool "woman reclaims her power and her life" story. And pretty funny in parts.

Her character in Tai Chi Master (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108281/) is also interesting; alcoholic, unhappy girl who still kicks arse and ends up getting herself together. Also contains a young fit Jet Li with long hair, so I'm guessing that might spark some interest ;-)

Finally, for pure femme gothic n' gorgeous kick arse stuff, I like The Heroic Trio (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105619/), although it's also pretty gruesome. I don't like the sequel as much because it moves from gruesome to gratuitous violence against women imo. But the first one is very pretty, and it's also hard to go past Maggie Cheung as a biker babe.

Yes, I did see Wing Chun at some film festie about 100 years ago (before I went to London, anyway). I like the funny bits, call me juvenile. Although some of those chop-socky flicks get a bit too much into the stupidity for my taste. But, yes, non-fluff female lead, yay, and the story was there too.

The others I haven't seen, alas. Young Jet Li with long hair? God, I won't know where to look. Dear lord. And both of them in kick-arse mode? I would be a puddle.

Three hawt babes in the last movie sounds too much. I think we should have a chop-socky movie watching sess some time, if you've got any of these to hand...

i used to have it bad for drew barrymore!
speaking of the lovely famke, have you seen the film love & sex?? i'm always recommending films aren't i? it's one of my fav films. she's the main character, she basically takes us through all her failed dysfunctional relationships to see what went wrong. it also stars jon favarou (s/p?). it's funny, sad at times, you definitely see yourself in parts of it, and in the end, it's happy ;)

plus since it's about relationships you get to see her in her underwear a few times!!

Recommending films is good! Especially with happy endings. :-) I must check that one out, then.

The other one of hers I'd like to see is Eulogy, especially since she plays a big old lesbo in it! *drool*

The one you cite, second from the right, might make a pretty good Bel. The second from the left was some pretty nice scenery, as long as you're looking. :)
